The Company was created in 2004 in Madrid by Paul Adkin
The initial objective was to form a group and work in prolonged laboratory sessions. In these laboratories we researched techniques of both vocal and physical expression with the aim of creating a theatre company with its own identity. In the first place ÑU TEATRO concentrated on: (a) the techniques of Meyerhold and his biomechanics; (b) Oriental Theater and especially pre-expressivity; and, to a lesser extent, (c) the methodology of Michael Chekhov. In order to complement these techniques which were fundamentally physical we have also trained in the voice techniques of Kristin Linklater.
